Rain, rain, rain

Boo! I'm sure your 4th grader already told you, but our fieldtrip to the Outdoor Learning Center was cancelled on Friday. We're working on rescheduling, so stay tuned! We'll keep you posted about our new date.

Wow!

Last week it was announced that 4th grade was the winner of the sock and underwear drive we did for the clothes closet. We were blown away by the generosity of our families! Thanks for your giving and for helping out a good cause.
On top of all that goodness, the teachers will get a chance to put a pie in Mr. Banner's face! That won't happen until the end of the month, but I'm sure your 4th grader will have some great stories to tell when it does!

Got Camp Questions?!?!

Well, we've got the answers. On Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m., come up to the school (probably the cafeteria) and we will give you all your answers and more! We talk Camp, Camp, and more Camp!
On another note, it was great to see so many of our parents last week at our Orientation!

It's been a while!

Wow! Have things been busy in 4th grade!
We're all having so much fun in our technology camp. The 4th graders are doing really amazing things, and their teachers are learning too!
Ask your 4th grader for the link to their blog. They update them every day at the end of their technology camp day.

Texas Public Scools Week

Next week is Texas Public Schools Week! We're getting ready to open our doors and welcome our 4th grade families. Here are the opportunities for visiting:
  • Open House: Tuesday, March 10 from 6:00- 7:30 p.m. Come and see some of your 4th grader's work, shop the Celebration Book Club selection, check out the Wall of Fame, and see the new cafeteria. It should be a good time for all!

  • Lunch with your 4th grader: Thursday, March 12 from 12:30-12:55 p.m. Wondering what's on the menu Thursday? Here are your choices: Chicken nuggets with roll, PB & jelly sandwich, or Oven fried chicken with roll. The sides are: glazed sweet potatoes, strawberry salad, nic nac salad. Please return the lunch form if you are planning to attend. We need a count so we can make sure we have enough seats!

We look forward to seeing you at school next week!

Whew! Our writing TAKS is behind us. We worked so hard yesterday and will wait for those results to return to us in May.
This week will be the final week for the 4th grade teachers to write a newsletter- BECAUSE our 4th graders are taking over! We realized that we have such skilled writers and we wanted to provide opporutnies to show off. So, we are beginning work on a new and improved, 3-page, student written newsletter that will arrive at your house next Thursday, March 12. Be on the look out for it!
